Obituary of William Henry Copeland

Penfield: After a brief illness on Friday, July 27, 2018, age 95.  Predeceased by his wife, Marion; sister, Jean.  He leaves his children, Cynthia, Scott, Bruce (Taya), Cathleen (Donald) Walters; grandchildren, Alyssa Knutti, Drew Copeland-Will, Carina Jean, Benjamin Scott, William H., Verity Lynn, Marly Jane, Bethany McAvoy, Al & Rana Valenzuela, Brittany & Brandon Copeland, Patrick & Jeffrey Walters; 16 great-grandchildren; in-laws, Richard Will, Joyce Gambacurta, Barb Copeland and nieces & nephews including O’Rourke & LaBrague families.

     Bill was a WWII veteran, flying 36 missions as a tail gunner in the 8th Air Corps. After his discharge, he graduated from Oswego State Teachers College, where he met the love of his life, Marion, aka “Lem”. He taught at Naples Central, Frankfort Central, and was a guidance counselor at Eastridge High School.

     Friends may call 6-8 PM Thursday, Aug 2^nd at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave. Webster where his Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Friday.  Interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Penfield.  Memorials may be directed to Special Olympics or Camp Good Days and Special Times.
