Obituary of Robert John Hawes

Penfield: Passed away August 5, 2018, at age 89.  Predeceased by his wonderful wife, Betty of 56 years of happiness; brother, Bill and wives Dot & Annie Hawes; brother-in-law, Larry & Mitsue Perry; sister-in-law, Alice Perry.  Survived by his brother, Ronald and wife, Barbara Hawes; sister, Patty and husband Mack McCarthy; many nieces & nephews.  Bob was born in Charlestown, MA.  He grew up in Rochester and attended Monroe High School where he excelled in sports.  He worked at Kodak Roll Coating Division.  Bob served in the active Naval Reserves and in the regular Army as a Ski Trooper.  He was a member of the Penfield American Legion Post 1229.  Bob and Betty enjoyed many years at their summer camp at Duck Lake entertaining, fishing, playing the slots and just enjoying every day the good Lord gave them.

          Friends may call 4-7 PM Wednesday, Aug 8^th at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster, where a Prayer Service will begin the visitation at 4:00 PM. Private interment at Riverside Cemetery, Rochester. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
