Kathy Brush was a classmate and friend dating back to our days at RL Thomas High School in Webster, NY in the late 1960’s. I knew her for over 50;years and she was always a happy and extremely caring, thoughtful woman. She was one of the founding members of the “gang” a tight knit group of folks who all graduated around 1969, mostly from RLT, but some from Mercy and other local high schools. Kathy shared my love of music and was always sending me messages about groups, bands and individual artists that she liked and thought I’d like. If you needed help with something Kathy was always there to lend a hand. She continually put service to others over her self. She could talk your ear off (like me) and always seemed to have a smile on her face which I know masked a lot of pain that she did not reveal to the world.
Right after I retired from the Air Force back in September 2001, and moved back to the Rochester area, Kathy volunteered a whole day of her time to drive me around to the VA Clinic and Veteran’s Outreach Center and reoriented to me to the city and surrounding area. One memory I will always have about Kathy is that when she was working as a radiology tech at then Northside (Rochester General) hospital she volunteered me the use of her apartment off Portland Ave back in July 1970 to be alone with my girlfriend (later wife) Karen so we could be alone together to celebrate my birthday. Her kind gesture wound up producing my son Cory and led to my marriage to Karen that lasted over 53 years until my wife passed.
KB you were loved and will be greatly missed by all of those who got to know you through the years and especially by your fellow “Gang” members. You were the first founding member of our group to pass over to the spirit world and gave us all a strong reminder of our mortality and how truly fragile life is. We’ll all try to be better people and share more love in honor of your life.
Your friend forever,
Craig “Gus” Miller
RLT Class of 1969
Will upload a High SchoolYearbook photo of Kathy Brush to accompany this memory so folks can remember her in her prime

Thinking of you and missing your random and thoughtful messages more than words can say.
