Jim was certainly a true gentleman in every sense of the word.
When I joined his group at Xerox in the mid-80's, he took me under his wing and taught me about the properties of metals and other materials, many different manufacturing processes, and most of all, how to lead fellow employees with respect, empathy and concern. His kindness and humble attitude are things that I shall never forget.
I only saw him very infrequently after his retirement, but I always enjoyed seeing him and catching up on his family, of whom he was immensely proud. My sincere condolences to each family member on the passing of one of my heroes.
