Obituary of Robert W. Becker

         Webster: Passed away at home, Sunday, July 17, 2022. Born in Flatbush, Brooklyn, on September 9, 1929. From age three, raised in Williston Park, Long Island, graduating from Mineola HS, and in 1951, Rensselaer in Troy. During the Korean war, he served four years in ASUF at Sampson AFB in Geneva and Pepperrell AFB in St. John’s Newfoundland. He climbed 10 Adirondack High Peaks. Employed 30 years at Eastman Kodak Company as a cost accountant, budgetary control financial analyst, with three years spent in Brazil constructing a sensitizing plant.

        Robert married Georgianna Acomb, RN, in 1973. They built homes in Greece and Webster, NY, living over 20 years in each. They never had a mortgage. They visited Bavaria often. Robert retired in 1986. He studied classical piano 10 years into 1947, acquiring the ability to play by ear, played for church and social groups singing hymns and community folk songs at countless locations. An active flower gardener of collected seeds, was a photographer, reader of history, and was a genealogist, who wrote and published 10 family histories. Robert maintained friendship at all venues.

     He leaves his attentive wife of 49 years, Georgianna; sister, Doris Hildebrandt of Baldwinsville, NY; nieces Diana, Carol, Linda, and their families.

          A Memorial Service will be held 1:30 PM Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Trinity Reformed Church, 909 North Landing Rd., Rochester, NY. A Visitation will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Nature Conservancy, 274 N Goodman St., Suite B261, Rochester, NY 14607.
