Obituary of Jay W. Johns Jr.
Watertown, NY: Age 61, passed away on February 10, 2023. He was born July 27, 1961 in North Tonawanda, NY.
Jay was a lover of fishing. His favorite nights would be spent in Canada, on White Lake, the water calm like glass with a fishing pole in his hand. He was an avid follower of all sports, especially football, and was a life long Denver Broncos fan. Jay was a people person through and through. He made friends everywhere he went, the true definition of a social butterfly. He could walk into any store, room, or social setting and leave with 2 new best friends. He loved pizza and wings and a good prime rib. Jay had excellent taste in music and did his best dancing in his slippers.
Jay was a dedicated employee to Frito Lay Inc. in both NH and NY. He recently celebrated 25 years with the company and made some of his best friends while working there.
He is survived by his daughter, Meaghan Johns; his son Jay W. Johns III; his father Jay W. Johns Sr.; sister Kelly Murawski; brother Allen Johns; his grandson Cohen; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his mother Margaret Johns (Grooms) and sister Tracy Johns.
A celebration of life will be held in his honor at a later date and time. This will be a party in true Jay fashion, for he would not want those to mourn, but to remember that “life is good” laugh, dance and “keep smiling”.
