Lillian May Griesel Killaby, of Rochester, NY, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2024. Predeceased by parents, Lillian Maude Adams Griesel and George Harry Griesel; and son, Donald B. Killaby Jr. Survived by daughter, Lisa Killaby (Mike Ouradnik), son Brian Killaby; Don Jrs’ wife, Pamela Killaby; grandchildren, Tellier Killaby Kemp (Ryan), Evelyn Killaby and Megan Killaby.
Lillian was born and grew up in Rochester as part of a large family with many aunts, uncles and cousins, including her aunt, Violet Adams Taylor, who was like a sister. She was known by all of them as Tootie. Following graduation from East High, where she was a majorette, and marriage at Parsells Avenue Baptist Church, she lived in Macedon and Fairport, NY, raising her children, gardening, making Christmas cookies and spending time at Keuka Lake. After a few years living in Connecticut, she moved to Florida (Cape Haze and Englewood) where she worked at the local library. In the last few years, she returned to Rochester to be closer to family.
Lillian will be buried in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made to the Charlotte County Library, Florida.
