Obituary of Heman D. Hunt
Webster: Mon., Feb. 20, 2017, age 98. Predeceased by his wife and best friend of 73 years, Rhea. He leaves his children, Carol Ann Walker, Donna Rae Hunt, Shirley Dee (David) Humphrey; 8 grandchildren: Kep (Ginger) Wadiak, Jeanine (Sean) Epperson, Dr. Heather Sanders, Scott Humphrey, Kim (David) Grabowski, Glenn Humphrey, Stacy (Jeffrey) Wiedeman and Christopher (Michelle) Walker; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
Heman served with the US Army Corps. of Engineers in Dutch Harbor, AK during the early part of WWII and then served in the US Army Signal Corp in the Pacific Theater. Heman was born and raised in his beloved Washington State and received his doctorate in Chemistry from the U of Washington before relocating to the east coast with his family. A research chemist, Heman retired from DuPont after 31 years of service. An avid bowler, Heman bowled in leagues at both Empire Lanes and Terrace Gardens. He loved to travel, play golf and skied into his early 80's.
